Everything stated when i gave up dancing and took my interest in horses to the next level of learning how to ride and look after then at a local riding school, where after being taught the basics I learnt even more when i moved to another riding school, run by a lovely and very knowledgeable lady who gave me inspiration to excel and do more and more with horses.
My profile, my passion and my mission
I gained BSc Animal Management and Welfare 2004, taking specific interest in behavioural analysis and training with dogs, equines and elephants. Following this degree up with completing training courses and undertaking a specific behavioural study with Monty Roberts and Kelly Marks in subsequent years.
Since I have helped owners understand and learn how to communicate better with their horses and create true partnerships, regardless of the past struggles.
No not everyone can over come fears and develop a connection, but the horses have all gone on to become happier in themselves and therefore been able to find their new partnerships.
I have run livery yards, looked after many horses with various backgrounds and have also transformed equines who are untouched to taking their first headcollar/drive/saddle/rider/competition. I have constantly learnt and been taught by the horses how to adapt my skills for success and questioned my sanity at times too.
However, I still thrive on the development and transformation these animals can have with the right understanding and patience. That is why I have now made changes in my own life to keep training horses possible for as long as I can, as well as passing on my skills and knowledge to my daughter who is picking up the reins more each year, whilst having her own successes with our home trained horses.
